I grew up in New Hampshire in an area which provided much of the inspiration for the works of the poet and writer, Robert Frost.  Many people describe the Livingston area as being reminiscent of the White Mountains of New Hampshire, where I logged many miles on hiking trails as a teenager and young adult.

It is exciting for me to once again be teaching science.  I hold three Bachelor of Science degrees and my teaching background is in earth science and physical science.  Several of my previous occupations have been science-related, including working as a timber sale forester, avalanche ski patroller, and as a natural history interpreter while guiding wilderness river rafting trips in Colorado , Utah , and Idaho .  

This is my sixth year as a teacher and second year at Arrowhead School .  Prior to coming to Arrowhead I taught  middle school science for four years in Colorado and Utah .  My goal as a science teacher is to develop student curiosity, interest, and ability in the area of scientific investigation while broadening student understanding of the role of science in our everyday lives.

Many Arrowhead students hold a tremendous understanding and appreciation of our natural world and I learn from them everyday.  I believe the key to being a successful educator is to be a

life-long learner, just as educators wish for our students to become life-long learners.  Arrowhead students have a great willingness and desire to learn even more.  This is inspiring for they may soon be involved in decision-making processes vital to the Paradise Valley and beyond.

I live in Livingston with my wife, Janelle, who shares in my love of the outdoors.  She is a Montana native, having grown up on a family ranch which her father and brother still operate.
