Dear
Arrowhead
School
Community,
Arrowhead
is more than just a school. It is a thriving educational community that
combines elementary and middle school in a k-8 setting. As such we are both a
school and a school district with a five
member
School
Board. I am proud to serve both as
Arrowhead
School
District
75 Superintendent and Arrowhead School Principal. Now in my fourth year as
school leader I have a greater appreciation for the high levels of educational
excellence that our school is capable of. My
annual goal is to sustain student achievement in reading, increase achievement
in math, and focus our teachers on meeting each child’s needs to reach higher
levels of learning. I will continue to faithfully serve the school community to
the best of my ability placing a premium on trust, communication, and the best
interest of each child.
As you may or may not know, Angela and I lived in
Bozeman
and
Belgrade
from
1993 to 2000. During this time, I worked as a teacher, wilderness
instructor, and technology coordinator at several schools, including four years
at
Monforton
School
. From
2000-2005, I served as a teacher, technology coordinator and Co-Director in two
Charter Schools in
Northern
California
.
Both schools were started from scratch by a team of dedicated educators
including myself.
Redwood
Academy
Charter
School
was
recognized as a
California
Distinguished
School
,
making it one of the most successful public schools in
California
.
During this time, I completed a Master’s degree in Education Administration at
Sonoma
State
University
. With
many years of education and professional school experience, I have a keen eye
for excellence in education which made
Arrowhead
School
an
obvious choice for me.
Prior to making
Montana
my
home, I was born and raised in
Andover
,
Massachusetts
where
I attended Phillips Academy Andover, a prestigious college preparatory school.
Subsequently, I attended
Colby
College
in
Waterville
,
Maine
.
Away from school I enjoy a variety of outdoor activities including skiing, rock
climbing, and kayaking. I have played and taught African Drumming for over a
decade. But mostly I enjoy being with my family; wife Angela, daughter Laurel,
and son Leland.
An
Arrowhead education provides the resources for each child to succeed in all
aspects of school life; social, emotional, and intellectual. It takes a group
commitment to produce the best school community possible. Please join in our
efforts to sustain a high quality school and academic program where children
grow and learn to the best of their ability and potential.
Sincerely,
Adam
Galvin, Superintendent/Principal
